You're using v1.0.0-beta.3

What's New

Versions follow major.minor.patch. "beta.N" builds are test releases for the first group of testers.

v1.0.0-beta.3 · 2026-10-07

  • Sources you trust (optional): the Values Interview can ask which outlets and experts you trust or are wary of. The Ballot Decoder then checks your trusted sources too, while still covering both sides and fact-checking the ones you're wary of.
  • Where your guide's facts come from: the Sources page now lists every source cited in your ballot, most-cited first, and shows how often your trusted sources were used.
  • Gut check (optional): record your first reaction to every contest before reading, then lock it. Your cheat sheet marks where research changed your mind.
  • Impact grid: see at a glance how each contest affects the people you care about.

v1.0.0-beta.2 · 2026-10-07

  • New home: the guide now lives at rationalindependent.com.
  • The Claude packs now tell you exactly where to upload your files.

v1.0.0-beta.1 · 2026-10-06

First test release: "Bring your own Claude."

  • Guided start page with three steps and checkmarks: Your values → Your ballot → Decide.
  • Values Interview pack: a Claude Skill (or Project instructions) that interviews you and writes your values.json.
  • Ballot Decoder pack: reads your official voter guide PDF in your own Claude, decodes every measure and race with sources, scores each one against your values, and writes ballot.json. Optional Dig Deeper web research.
  • Upload or paste the files Claude gives you; the site checks them and explains any problems in plain English. Ballots that come in parts merge automatically.
  • Library: the neutral San Diego County (ballot type 308) breakdown, including all California statewide propositions. Use it as a starting point so Claude only decodes what's missing.
  • My Guide: your ballot with values scores, claim checks, candidate records, and how measures interact. Record a first-instinct and final pick for each contest.
  • Cheat sheet: a printable list of your final picks to take to the polls.
  • Private by design: your values, ballot, picks and notes stay in your browser. The site has no accounts and no database of users.
